Lots of things we thought were impossible, weren’t
The standout comment from this morning’s webinar, expertly hosted by Pip Wilkins and a diverse group of brands operating primarily across Europe, but with a worldwide presence as well.
As a relative newcomer, I was surprised at how adaptable and innovative this industry is, in the face of a truly unique set of circumstances. There were no complaints about government, competitors or other sectors, no feeling of being hard done by. If anything, Covid has forced a long overdue change in daily business. The positivity was overwhelming!
If anything, the crisis has also brought more people together. There is more interaction, and closer relations between franchisors and franchisees. One might even say that Covid has forced many businesses to change for the better. That is not something we hear very often.
A strong closing point was about responsibility to franchisees. They are out there in the public eye, serving customers and keeping brand values alive, meaning it is our duty to make sure they are recognised as such vital parts of the business.
This is such a central point to the franchising business model and we will certainly explore it further in 2021.
Thanks to all of our speakers.
